It's time for another powerful story of life change from Hope Center Ministries! Today we celebrate renewal through faith with the testimony of Joe Janson.
Before coming to Hope Center, Joe's life was in shambles. Like so many others trapped in addiction he felt lost, broken, and like the cycle of substance abuse had robbed him of everything, even his sense of confidence that life would ever get better. It's moments like these that are some of the most insidious for an addict: even if one has the desire to live in sobriety, it can feel impossible without hope for the future.
"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out." - Romans 7:18
Joe had, of course, heard of Christ before, but had no idea how to make the life change necessary to live a life for Christ; it was at this point that he found that knowledge through Hope Center Ministries.
Hope Center was able to not just reintroduce Christ to Joe's life in a new way, but help him forge a personal relationship with Him that gave him the strength necessary to walk a new path free from the burden of addiction. Joe found solace in service to others — a practice he still carries today as Recovery Pastor for our Springfield, TN center.
In Joe's own words, "I now have a purpose in my life and can pass it on to others," and we thank him for doing exactly that for the men of Springfield and beyond!
